Australian Sales Charts, Week Ending 13/11/05

PALGN News | The handheld era is over. For now.
After a strong few months from the handhelds, the PS2 has regained its stranglehold on the charts, with a whopping 8 games in the top 10 this week. The top three games are the same as last week - Buzz: The Music Quiz, Star Wars: Battlefront II and Tony Hawk's American Wasteland. After that though, everything is different. #4 has seen Crash Tag Team Racing climb two positions from #6.

At #5 and #6 are two new entries, Singstar: 80s and EyeToy: Play 3, continuing the success of the predecessors. #7 - the first of two non-PS2 titles - sees the re-entry of Age of Empires III on the PC, while at #8 lies Star Wars: Battlefront II for the Xbox, after suffering fall from last week's #3. At #9 is EyeToy: Play 3 - again, the version without the camera itself. Finally, at #10, is Ricky Ponting Cricket 2005, who has been a stable performer for many months now.

The charts are updated weekly and are provided by GfK.

It will be really interesting to see if the 360 will make an impression in Australia. I get the feeling PS2 will continue to kick everything else's bottom right through until the launch of PS3.

It's all the Playstation 2 at the moment. Now, that's a monopoly.

If Mario Kart isn't number 1 next week I'll be very surprised.

But right now that's quite the domination by PS2.

When was the last time a GC was in the top 10?
