What is your position at PALGN?
PALGN reviewer
Which country / state are you in?
England, UK
Favourite Game/s of all time?
Zelda OOT, Goldeneye, Super Metroid, Yoshi’s Island, Resident Evil 4…
Least favourite game?
Pretty much any turn-based RPG; I can’t stand them.
What do you do aside from PALGN?
Work in retail and spend a lot of time playing games of course.
If you were locked in a room for all eternity with someone who would you like it to be?
Avoiding the obvious ‘insert sexy woman here’ answer, it would have to be Miyamoto of course. I think it would take all of eternity to thank him enough for the countless masterpieces of his I have played over the years.
What consoles do you own?
Everything major apart from the PSP which I sold due to the lack of original games on the machine. I expect I’ll pick up a white one next year though if the right software comes.
What will be your next game purchase?
Trauma Center: Under the Knife (NDS), it’s out in USA this week - been looking forward to this for a while now.
Why do you write for PALGN?
I enjoy writing about games and used to spend a lot of time writing impressions threads on forums, so I thought I’d might as well put my writing to good use.
What upcoming game are you most anticipating?
This year would have to be Shadow of the Colossus. Zelda and Okami stand out for 2006.
In your opinion whats the most irritating game ever released?
FIFA Street. Anyone who has heard the commentary will know what I mean.
What games are you currently playing?
Far Cry Instincts and Fahrenheit on the Xbox, Batallion Wars on the GC and Ouendan & Castlevania on the DS.
What is your earliest gaming memory?
Hmm, probably a game called ‘Oh Mummy’ on the Amstrad. It was basically Pac-Man with Mummy’s and it was the first game I ever played I think.
What was the first game/console you played/bought?
The original Game Boy, I got it in 1990 with Tetris and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
If you could order developer's to do/change one thing in their games, what would it be?
Put some effort in their soundtracks. Good, ORIGINAL music is so rare these days, many tend to use licensed tracks and I wish they wouldn’t. When I think of all my favourite soundtracks over the years, most of them come from the SNES & N64 era’s when licensed music didn’t exist, I miss those days.
What do you think are some of the notable things you've done / contributed to PALGN?
My reviews, obviously. In less than 18 months I’ve managed to do 44 reviews, far more than I ever expected to do considering what little spare time I have
What are some of your most controversial games review scores?
I suppose my 10 for Resident Evil 4, although I still stick by it. I thought I would come to regret it over time, but after recently replaying it, I honestly don’t one bit.
