Burnout crashes onto the DS

PALGN News | Crash Junctions and Takedowns on two screens? Can it get any better?
According to numerous reports posted on the web, Electronic Arts has confirmed that a version of Burnout Legends will be released on the Nintendo DS. This should alleviate some of the disappointment when it was originally announced only for the PSP.

According to the reports, the DS version will be released by the end of the year in the U.S. and worldwide shortly after. The game is a quasi-compilation of the Burnout series, updating portions of the console games Burnout, Burnout 2: Point of Impact, and Burnout 3: Takedown.

There have been no details of any exclusive touch screen functions or any other information released aside from the fact that it is on its way to Nintendo's portable system. PALGN will bring you more information and hopefully some media when it is made available.

Wow...
This sounds good, let's just hope they don't simply turn the second screen into a map or sumthing... hmmm...

I dont know.Just cause there is a second screen there doesnt mean they have to come up with some radical new function for it.Its just a racing game.Id rather there was just a map or something similiar rather than a stearing wheel or some other crap that would detract from the actual game.

I knew this thing was in the works! All I needed was an official annoucement. Hopefully this turns out alright, although I am very surprised they're trying a nintendo release, after all burnout 3 wasn't realesed on the gamecube.

This could make for one hell of a DS title.

Hmm..... burn out its right up there with juiced. Prettay crap if you ask me.. They were no where as fun as Underground 2.

Underground 2 was quite possibly the worst racer ever, it just seemed so wrong even though the customsiation was there. On the flip side Burnout 3 is quite possibly my fave racing game next to Midnight Club 3.

Im surprised it will becoming out on DS because of the low power behind the system, it couldnt handle very much at inzane speeds. I spose it will be like Ridge Racer - good on PSP but absolute crap on DS.

Ridge Racer was ported to the DS in the time frame of (2 months) - Burnout well....isnt. But I don't really like EA's games. icon_wink.gif

Amen to that.

I'm not really into these DS racers, I prefer my cars to be nice and shiny with all the detail. icon_smile.gif My DS is a haven of puzzle/action games.

I do like the midnight club series it rox, esspecially number 2 and killing of innocent by standers, with my awsome driving skills its just total slaughter icon_razz.gif.

I'm wondering, if the speed of Burnout can be pulled off, will we see a F-Zero DS game...

^ But wouldn't it be more of a remake of F-Zero X mix with a bit of elements in F-Zero...
Oh wait... that sounds great, can't wait for it if Burnout speed does work.

Um, are we playing the same game here? Midnight club doesn't let you run over pedestrians, they just jump out of the way.

And Burnout 3 is gaming crack.

Underground sux, midnight club is pretty good but burnout take the cake for "balls-on-the-wall" racing! Burnout now sits ontop of F-Zero as one of my favourite games.

Yes i am quite sure i ussually play midnight club 2 at IPM (internet gaming cafe sorta place) and you can hit pedestrians and you have to drive over blue check points and all.

I'm with GTPod - 'serious' racers just don't seem to work with handhelds, and I blame the lack of analogue. The likes of Mario Kart are fine on a D-pad because of the nature of the handling - you need it to be quick, zippy and responsive. Serious racers require a more subtle control method.

Perhaps only arcade racers goes well with handhelds. I don't mind if there is no analogue since I like driving with the D-Pad.

I played my mates DS's Ridge Racer it was okay. I tried steering with the stylus and it was terrible.
