Deputy Editor. Was once the Editor-in-Chief, but I left the site for a year to focus on my studies.
Which country / state are you in?
Australia / Queensland
Favourite Game/s of all time?
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. I wasn't really that big a Nintendo fan when it came out - that game kinda buried the last remnants of my Sega dedication. It'd be nice if I could experience games on that basis more often - not knowing a thing going, but times have changed. Honorable mention goes to Shenmue II.
Least favourite game?
This is a tough one because it could be interpreted from so many angles, but for now I'll run with State of Emergency.
What do you do aside from PALGN?
I'm about 3 months shy from finishing a Bachelor of Commerce at UQ. I also like anime, though I'm not really into it - dedicated anime fans like to ostracise me for liking Dragon Ball Z. That and a lot of anime fans scare me. I also watch a ton of movies.
If you were locked in a room for all eternity with someone who would you like it to be?
I can't really think of anyone specific - maybe a nice, intelligent girl who doesn't talk too much about superficial crap, or someone who's well read or knows a lot about the world.
What consoles do you own?
Sega Master System, Megadrive, 32X, Saturn, Dreamcast, NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, Game Boy Colour, GameCube, Game Boy Advance SP, PlayStation 2, Xbox. I'm hoping to add a DS to this lineup before the end of the year.
What will be your next game purchase?
Plenty of stuff I'm looking out for - I never really know when I'm going to buy something, as I've started to tighten my belt when it comes to game purchases - The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is my next planned purchase, but anything could happen before November.
Why do you write for PALGN?
I write for PALGN because it always strikes me as "the little site that could". Things are always improving around here - more readers, more official support, and an ever-improving community. Plus it gives me a public forum in which to post my diatribe. We've certainly come a long way since I first stumbled upon the site in late 2002.
What upcoming game are you most anticipating?
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.
In your opinion whats the most irritating game ever released?
This answer is probably going to annoy a lot of people - Ninja Gaiden. Releasing a game full of technical faults and calling them difficulty enhancers makes me laugh. The game can be easily (well, any difficulty can be attributed to technical faults on behalf of the camera, or slightly unresponsive control) conquered just holding the block button and using the exact same combo.
What games are you currently playing?
God of War (brilliant), Pro Evolution Soccer 4 (more addictive than I ever thought possible), GTA: San Andreas PC and I'll probably start Metroid Fusion this afternoon. My backlog is growing too - time management is certainly not my forté.
What is your earliest gaming memory?
Christ - it'd have been about 1986 or 1987 and I was at the Tara hotel with my parents, and my brother and I were messing around with a cocktail version of some shooter - I don't know the name of it exactly, but it was sort of like Galaga meets Centipede. If anyone knows what it is, post the name of the game in the comments section.
What was the first game/console you played/bought?
First game I played...really played, not just messed around smashing buttons like a pesky toddler would have been Ghouls and Ghosts at the old Grundies arcade at Surfers Paradise in 1988 or 1989, my memory is a little hazy on specifics.
First console I played was the Sega Master System - my father decided to purchase a console after we spent far too much money at the arcades on a trip to the Gold Coast in 1990. First console I actually paid for was a part share in a Game Boy with my brother in 1992.
If you could order developer's to do/change one thing in their games, what would it be?
No rubber band AI. Ever. I don't care if you think it makes something more exciting - if I am kicking the AI's ass, it shouldn't get any sort of super boost just to stay competitive. Should have stayed in the arcade, where it actually served a purpose - which was basically increasing earnings yield on machines.
What do you think are some of the notable things you've done / contributed to PALGN?
- Established Relationships with publishers

- Formed the scoring guidelines
