Jaws Unleashed: First media revealed

PALGN News | Duh DUH. Duh DUH. Duh DUH. Duh-dur-duh-dur-duh-dur-DUHHH.
More attentive readers will recall PALGN bringing you the happy news of a few days ago that Jaws, the 80s Spielberg movie of a Great White shark terrorising a small community, will be finally graced with a videogame. Now, PALGN will be the first to admit that movie/videogame tie-ins are usually errors of monstrous proportions.

But what the hell, we thought, it could be fun. After all, it's developers, Appaloosa Interactive, managed to create the most famous videogame fish ever in Ecco the Dolphin, even if the 3D versions of that franchise went a bit awry. Heck, it even seemed like Jaws Unleashed could be relatively free-roaming, a (dare we say it) kind of aquatic San Andreas. And call us weird, but chomping on human flesh sounded fun.

Alas, the first screens that we received today aren't quite as impressive as the press release had assured us ('meticulously detailed environments'), but the game isn't beyond saving just yet. Click on the media panel to the right and make your own mind up. Due on PlayStation 2 and Xbox in August, with an exact date to be specified in the near future.
