E3 2005: Day Two Roundup

PALGN News | We summarise exactly what happened on Day Two of E3.
It's over for yet another busy day, and we’re now 2/3's through the E3 conferences, it is important to remember that after the conferences are done there are still two days left of hands on action, with a lot of games unveiled for the first time at this stage.

So there are still really three days left until our staff members can take a (well deserved) break. E3 started today with Nintendo's conference, we were expecting to see some huge news from Nintendo, but unfortunately overall it was a relatively lacklustre event.

A few sketchy details were unveiled, as well as a teaser image of the Revolution, but there is no bias when I state quite clearly that Nintendo's conference just wasn't as appealing as Microsoft's and Sony's (Speak for yourself. - Ed.).

Microsoft decided to promote the XBox 360 even more today, and announced some Dead or Alive 4 images, as well as Perfect Dark Zero details. When comparing how far along the next-generation consoles are, Microsoft are clearly in the lead.

Konami also provided a few announcements today, confirming that Metal Gear Solid 3 will see an "expansion" and Metal Gear Acid 2 will make its way to the PSP by the end of the year, the game looks even better than its predecessor. If anyone cared they are also developing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3 for the Nintendo DS.

Rockstar only need to open their mouth and everybody listens, and listen we did. Grand Theft Auto Liberty City Stories will be a launch title for the Playstation Portable when it is released on September 1, 2005 in PAL countries. Grand Theft Auto Liberty City Stories already seems like an absolutely brilliant game, we cannot wait.

There were a few other miscellaneous announcements, such as Sonic Rush coming to the DS, Pathway to Glory 2 coming to the Ngage and a new Yu-Gi-Oh! title coming to the Nintendo DS.

Today was a big day and tomorrow should be even bigger, as companies prepare their final "bombshells" before the press get an opportunity to play the games.

I am sure many of you are wondering how PALGN is going during this incredibly exciting time, our traffic has at least doubled (we're still waiting on our figures), bringing our views to at least 5000 unique views a day. Our coverage is surpassing some of the bigger sites, especially the ones we compete against. Thanks for sticking with us through E3.

PALGN will continue with E3 updates for the next three days, keep checking back, you don't want to miss anything.
