That boxing gorgon fight looked really awesome and so did those flying nazgul thingies attacking Link on horseback.

I just started replaying Windwaker, I just got the windwaker's wind altering power - Ill have to get through OOT and MJ before they release Legend of Zelda I think

Beautiful. Simply beautiful.

A lot of interesting features revealed after that; Gorons, water, new creatures, old creatures, eye animation and it seems the overworld is going to run quite far.

"Poor Old Gamecube"? It's still currently the most powerful console on the market!

Sadly this isn't reflected in the industry.

Not disagreing(sp?), but what do you mean? No other (current) console could produce this Zelda's graphics! (or RE4 or F-zero GX or RE Zero or......)

RE4 is coming to the PS2 later on I heard, once again its not the console at this stage in time - its the developers.

Although most of the games do look nicer on the Gamcube icon_razz.gif
Can you possinly imagine playing Mario or Zelda on another console? weird thought..

^ My thoughts exactly. I like the Cube and all, but this Zelda's graphics aren't as good as everyone keeps saying. The characters/enemies have a blocky look about them, as does the environment. They're going for a "real" look but still have those stupid flashes when Link's sword connects. They're nice graphics, but they really aren't close to being the "best" around on consoles these days.

Real look? its Zelda man icon_razz.gif

Seeing the flashes when the sword hits enemies is ment to add action to the game and its part of the style.

And there pretty graphics, but I agree with you - not the best graphics around

^ Yes I'm aware "it's Zelda" but a lot of the hype with this game is that it has more realistic styling rather than the fairly kiddy look of the Wind Waker.

Um, yeah.

yeah, yeah, who wants to quarrel over consoles. we all know online MMORPG's which you pay $15 a month for that isn't free with starter kits and you get quality unlike crap games like runescape for the computer.

In short, NOT FREE online computer games are much better the single player console games.

It looked great but just to be a bit of a party pooper. The polygon count didn't look to great in some parts! I just hope that is a real unfinished version! I just want these graphics to be superior to any game! Though that wont be I just want to be able to gaze at the screen and say WOW

hmm. I wasn't terribly impressed after watching this video, RE4 looks better, even if it does have lower resolution textures. Oh and the animation looks terrible.

With regards to the graphics of the game, I think they're brilliant and a step above most other gamecube games, though as stated before the animation needs a lot of work (watch link slide around the room when fighting those lizards). Though Link's clothing dynamically moving is impressive, a lot of the movement is disjointed (this is particularly apparent when Link is fighting this stalfos at the end of the trailer) and there also seems to be a scary amount of fog on the overworld parts, hopefully draw distance won't be an issue either.

And as for other consoles being able to replicate the graphics, the Xbox could easily handle this game as its looking right now. It would take a lot more talent (on the developers part) to get it running on a PS2, but I think it would be possible if in the right hands.

Personally the most beautiful graphics I've ever seen was Starfox Adventures. Now all three consoles (and a fair few PCs) would have trouble running that at 60fps, but Rare pulled it off wonderfully. Pity about the game.

RE4, RE Zero, F-zero GX, Metroid Echoes, SF Adventures, Rogue Squadron III, Riddick (PC), Doom 3 (PC) and GT4 are the best graphics around IMO.

Rogue III has the highest polygon count of any game ever, console of PC. It did 17 (even up to 20) million polys/sec at 60fps. The highest poly xbox game has been Rallysport Challenge 2 at 11 million polys/sec and the highest for PS2 was 11 million, I forget what game (prob virtua fighter 4)

(these figures are from 1 year ago, I can't find updates!)

Also, RE Zero had the highest poly model of any game ever (it was one of the bosses in the 300,000 poly range).

While i'd also give the Cube the nod when it comes to having the best looking games, the Xbox has some beauties too.

Ninja Gaiden, DOA Ultimate/3, Oddworld Strangers Wrath, Riddick, Panzer Dragoon and RalliSport Challenge 2 are as good as anything around. Splinter Cell 3 looks pretty stunning from the demo too.

I'll give you Panzer Dragoon, and even DOA (although it's easy for fighters to look good since the computer knows it will only even have 2 modeols on the screen at once), but Ninja Gaiden? It's a good game (unlike Panzer and DOA) but it doesn't look that good.
