New 'Air Flo' controllers revealed

PALGN News | Sweaty hands? Problem solved.
Bluemouth Interactive has sent us a press release detailing their new 'Air Flo' controllers for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles. The main purpose of the technology is to reduce the problem of sweat building up on control pads during long gaming sessions.

And if you want the inside word, they actually work. We got a chance to try out both prototypes last week and while there is a bit of extra noise and they're wired (obviously), it really does keep your hands cool. The grips are also vastly superior to what's currently on the market. Here are some details:

  • Patented Air Floâ„¢ technology keep your grip cool
  • Built in fan with two speeds circulates up to 3.41 cubic feet of air per minute
  • Illuminated vents
  • Ergonomically designed for comfort
  • Dual rumble motors

The Xbox 360 version is priced at AU$49.95 and is officially licensed by Microsoft, while the PlayStation 3 equivalent is AU$39.95. When they officially launch, you'll be able to find them at EB Games, Big W, JB Hifi (AUS + NZ) and The Warehouse (NZ).

There's no release date just yet, but you can check out some pictures and trailers below if you're interested.

looks like the 360 controller might have a better d pad than the normal ones.

Was this really needed?

Living in north Queensland, during summer I understand the need for these. Producing ungodly amounts of sweat sitting down playing xbox, the controller becomes almost impossible to handle.

Not that I'd buy one.
