Activision announces GoldenEye 007: Reloaded for Xbox 360 and PS3

PALGN News | Cue N64 fan-boys simultaneously crapping their pants.
It’s official! After speculation went into overdrive last month when the domain for GoldenEye Reloaded was registered, Shacknews is reporting that GoldenEye 007: Reloaded has been announced for the Xbox 360 and PS3.

To clarify, this is not a remake of the original Rare masterpiece, but rather an update with "HD visuals and realistic environments running at 60-frames per second" of the Wii title that was released late last year.

The title is set to be built on a new engine by Eurocom (developer of the Wii title). Aside from the standard campaign Xbox and PlayStation owners will also be treated to new ‘Mi6 Ops missions, focusing on varying assault stealth and elimination objectives as well as 16-player online multiplayer with bonus maps, weapons and game modes.

For all of you that have PlayStation Moves sitting on your mantle, Reloaded will have you pointing away with Move support that is no doubt set to be similar to the motion control scheme on the Wii.

It’s exciting news for all those 007 fans who were disappointed about missing out on all the super spy fun. GoldenEye 007: Reloaded is currently set for release in America for fall (which loosely translates to around September – December down under) but no specific release date has yet been confirmed.

Having not played Goldeneye on Wii, are the issues with the Wii version ones that could be fixed up by the superior hardware and software (when it comes to multiplayer) of the PS3 and 360? Or is the multiplayer crap for other reasons?

For the campaign, framerate was the only glaring problem, and this supposedly runs locked a 60fps. Multiplayer was just a bit boring for me. The single player is a surprisingly awesome reimagining of classic GoldenEye with modern conventions, but the multiplayer feels like a poor man's Call of Duty.

There's fun to be had, but it didnt hook me. I think I was most disappointed by the absence of any 'classic' mode. Four player split screen and classic characters are welcome, but the gameplay was still based on load-outs. I would have loved a classic mode where guns are laying around the map. Seemed a bit stupid to call it classic multiplayer when it doesnt actually play like classic Bond.

It's not a remake of goldeneye on the 64.

It's an upgraded version fo the wii game from last year.
Would use all the same code and shit with new assetts so not a remake.
