GoldenEye 007: Reloaded revealed

PALGN News | Well, kind of.
Everybody knows the name GoldenEye, either as a fan of the original action packed Bond film, or the classic Nintendo 64 game that paved the way to the console multiplayer we have today. Perhaps you're also familiar with the Nintendo Wii re-imagining of the classic game. Released last year, we were very impressed with the single player portion, and it seems fans were too, with the game reportedly selling very well.

Known well for making the best use of successful properties, it would seem that Activision has even more in store for the GoldenEye franchise. Initially posted on the supererogatory twitter, it would seem that Activision has recently registered several gaming website all related to a mysteriously titled GoldenEye 007: Reloaded.

A high definition port of the Wii game to home consoles, or perhaps portable platforms? A new title entirely? We have no idea, because that is where the news ends. Sadly, Activision has yet to comment on the leak, and until we do all we have is speculation.

Still, we now know a GoldenEye 007: Reloaded exists in some form. What could it be? Let us know what you think in the comments.

Im assuming its a port coming to 360 and PS3. If you watch the playstation move section of sony's E3 conference you can see the goldeneye 007 logo included amongst their upcoming move compatible titles display (with HOTD overkill, etc). Makes alot of sense to me.

I'm guessing it's just a HD port of the Wii game.

I think there's too many headaches with who owns the rights to the original game for them to be porting the N64 classic directly.

Whatever it is on, I will buy it. GoldenEye 007 was my biggest surprise of last year, and is legitimately one of the best single player shooter campaigns of recent memory. Eurocom knocked it out of the park, and this is coming from someone who would have put good money on the game being a trainwreck.

A re-release on 360/PS3 with higher quality assets would be ideal, but I'd bite at 3DS release too.

With the amount of failed Bond games out there, the risk is too great.

I'd like it to be a HD remake.

This might as well be. It was more of a reimagining than a remake.

And it was fucking awesome.

What like this?

This game was completely new, I wouldn't call it a remake by any stretch of the imagination, it was more of a re-imagining as Jarrod said. Original stand-alone Bond games have never been great, probably because they spend much less time on writing them than than they do on the movies.
