PALGN Weekly Releases - 26/04/11

PALGN Feature | Back to normal.
After months of frenzied releases, it appears that the schedule is dying down and the onset of the annual ‘gaming drought’ is imminent. On a positive note, it will be a good opportunity to catch up on the backlog and start saving for the torrent of blockbuster titles releasing this holiday. Nevertheless, all is not completely quiet, as in the near future we can still expect titles such as Brink, LA Noire, F.E.A.R. 3 and Infamous 2, but just spaced out over a number of weeks.

After the extended holiday, there are two titles releasing in the coming days that gamers may wish to take note of. The first, Darkspore on PC, described as an online sci-fi action-RPG, sees players fighting solo and co-operatively against the forces of Darkspore. You can assemble an army of living weapons and upgrade them with countless pieces of body parts and armour, before surviving hordes of enemies and engaging in PvP arenas.

The second significant release, Final Fantasy IV Complete Collection on PSP arrives on Thursday. The game includes Final Fantasy IV and its sequel The After Years, linked with a brand new scenario, enhanced specially for the PlayStation Portable.

This week's checklist:

Thursday 28th April:

Darkspore (PC)
Final Fantasy IV Complete Collection (PlayStation Portable)
Puzzle Bobble Universe (Nintendo 3DS)
Thor (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, Nintendo DS)

Coming next week: Virtua Tennis 4 (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii).

Release dates are subject to change without notice.

Pretty slow this week, except maybe Puzzle Bobble Universe could be worth getting but unsure of the price tag.

I don't think it is, if reviews are anything to go by. 88 stages total, no extra modes, no multiplayer, barely any 3D... and probably around $50 or $60 here. You're better off signing into a US profile on XBLA and getting Puzzle Bobble Live... or alternatively Puzzle Bobble Plus on Wiiware. They're more like $10-$15 and have heaps more on offer, especially the XBLA one.

I just bought Puzzle Bobble...
But from Ozgameshop.. $34.99 or something from them..
Any of the shops i was in today was $59+
Not expecting huge things but $35 is worth it.
