Take 2 casting includes GTA character

PALGN News | Another report to fuel debate.
Wouldn't it be so much easier if Take 2 and Rockstar announced Grand Theft Auto V? It would make life so much easier. Just like previous reports on information related to Rockstar's latest poject, codenamed 'Rush', their parent company, Take 2, is searching for new voice talent.

Here's the list:

  • Matthew (18-25 Male United States) - A liberal young male who believes in a conspiracy made by republicans to undermine America
  • Jose (30-40 Male United States) - A white creepy man who thinks that technology is a poison against the wilderness
  • James Pedeaston (40-45 Male United States) - A man-boy love activist who just got released from an Indonesian prison
  • Samantha (20-25 Female United States) - A young female obsessed with sex parties, always dreaming of being a Hollywood celebrity
  • Anthony (10-15 Male United States) - A young, fast-talking boy fighting for the right of young boys to drink alcohol and have sex

James Pedeaston, eh? He just so happened to be a radio presenter in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, and that's the area where many believe the franchise is returning to. The applications close on 30 April 2011, which sadly means that a reveal is unlikely to happen before E3. Stay tuned for more Grand Theft Auto V speculation in the near future (probably)!

Won't be GTA V. I'm putting money on a GTA 4.5 title. Like what Vice City and San Andreas was to GTA III.

Is GTA IV really that different to Vice City or San Andreas? All I can think of is that they tweaked the graphics engine for the new consoles

GTA IV is different from Vice City and San Andreas from the point of view of the style of game and story they wanted to portray.

There is very minimal weaponry, and the story direction felt more realistic than your usual GTA story, which I've always felt was a story for a Hollywood blockbuster. Certain events happen in the game, which can alter how the game ends, but not so much in the way Mass Effect does it.

In all honesty, it didn't leave much to the imagination, and the sandbox element of the game was really uninspiring.

It does have a pretty sweet online multiplayer mode, though, which is new to the series and I thought it was quite fun, despite the amount of times I got pwned.

There is also the DLC, or stand-alone pack "Episodes from Liberty City" which includes the games "The Ballad of Fat Tony" and "The Lost and Damned". I have a copy of this, but have yet to play it.

They're supposed to be spin-off's from the main GTA IV story, takes place in the same city, uses same engine etc, but you don't need the original game to play.

But like I said I haven't played either, but I've been told The Ballad of Fat Tony is a lot better than GTA IV, but disappointing because the gameplay isn't as long.

But about GTA V... I think there's a reason it hasn't been named GTA V and we're given the codename of "Rush", and my belief is is that it's not going to be called Grand Theft Auto.

In all honesty, the GTA games have evolved so much since the original birds-eye games, so many new elements to the gameplay that the game is not just about grand theft auto, so I think they may actually be wanting to revitalise the IP with a new name along with new elements of gameplay.

If my prediction is true, I reckon we'll be seeing a game that is probably more along the lines of inFamous and Heavy Rain, which to me seems like the logical step forward from the classic GTA game.
