It looks like somewhat of an alternate reality has begun to hype up Hitman 5, with most information detailed over at the Hitman forums.
The first piece of the puzzle comes from a doughnut ad in a Sundance Film Festival magazine. Yes, you read that correctly. But don't be fooled, because these doughnuts hold a secret (poorly hidden, at that). At the bottom of the page, on the doughnut box, we can clearly see the numbers '47' highlighted on the bar-code. You can check this out in the image below.
Fans enquiring to the magazine's advertiser about this clue were sent another piece of the puzzle; Agent 47's trademark leather gloves, a series of documents, and another bar-code. The documents detail a storyboard for what appears to be a game cut-scene, and even directly reference 'Hitman'.
The last piece of the puzzle has to do with the three collected bar-codes - 110509-040147, 640709-040147 and ******-040147. Taking a look at the bar-code tattooed on the back of Agent 47's head, 640509-040147, we can see that all three bard-codes match up almost perfectly, the exception being a couple of different numbers. Those numbers are '7' and '11'. E3 this year falls on the 7th, and this is the year of 2011.
