Activision's Murder Your Maker teased

PALGN News | Activision join the party.
VGA 2010 news and teasers are on a roll, and the latest company to join the fray is Activision, with Kotaku reporting the company's latest teaser.

The teaser is in the form of a website titled Murder Your Maker, depicting an unidentified figure staring at a billboard dressed in maps, plot markers, newspaper clippings and photographs.

What makes us so sure that this is an Activision game? A quick search on whois reveals that the server hosting the website is owned by Activision. As Kotaku mention, this teased game may not be exactly called 'Murder Your Maker', but instead 'Bloodhunt', an unannounced Activision Blizzard title that popped up on Australia's very own OFLC.

The title 'Murder Your Maker' is likely linked to a series of QR Code teaser images that appeared in recent commercials for the Video Game Awards, which so far linked to images displaying the text 'Murder' and 'Your'. With the phrase now complete, all we have to do is wait until VGA 2010 on December 11 to find out what this mystery game, and others, are all about.

Does all this mystery and hype really aid anyone? To me it just makes me not want to know anything further about the game they are going to release.. makes me want to never buy any of their games again. I know that I still will of course but that's how it makes me feel when I see this sort of teaser rubbish coming from their PR companies. It's akin to marketing spam in my opinion and leaves the same bad taste in my mouth..

What about other people? Do you find all this to be annoying, frustrating rubbish? Or does it actually excite you and make you more interested in seeing what is coming?

Honestly for the most part I just don't care.

By the time the game comes out I will have completely forgotten about this teaser. And I'll buy the game based on reviews and game play videos.

So yeah it doesn't really excite me (With the exception of t hat bioware one cause fuck yeah more mass effect)but it doesn't really turn me off either. I just tune it out.

^^ Exactly.. I mean.. I will still look at it when it comes out, still buy it if it is good etc.. but it makes me feel like I don't want anything to do with it.. that is, the opposite reaction to what they are trying to achieve.

see it doesn't really make me feel like I want nothing to do with it. Honestly it doesn't really make me feel anything at all. It's a complete none entity in my mind.
