PALGN's Periodical Rumour Harvest #8

PALGN Feature | We're fairly confident we have the Japanese PSP release date, price and launch titles - rejoice! The final word for all the naysayers on GTA: San Andreas - is it cut or isn't it?
PSP Launch Price and Launch titles revealed?

We love Japanese retailers - the seem to love giving away information that hasn't even been announced yet.

According to Japanese retailers the PSP will launch on December 23rd, 2004 for a price of 24,800 Yen (This equates to approximately $300 Australian).

The PSP package will contain a PSP system, 32MB Memory stick, Battery pack, AC Adaptor, Headphone with remote control, carrying pouch and cleaner - sounds like awfully good value to us!

The rumoured twelve launch titles for the PSP are:
  • Armored Core: Formula Front
  • Dokodemo Issyo
  • Everybody's Golf Portable
  • Legend of Heroes: Gagharv Trilogy
  • Lumines
  • Mojipittan
  • Need for Speed Underground Rivals
  • Rengoku: The Tower of Purgatory
  • Ridge Racer Evolution
  • Sangokushi
  • Tiger Woods PGA Tour
  • Vampire Chronicles: The Chaos Tower

That looks above ground to me! AHAHA!

In addition to this are the rumoured release dates for some other upcoming PSP titles:

01/23/05 - Gran Turismo 4 Mobile
01/23/05 - Popolocrois: Prince Pietro's Adventure
01/23/05 - Final Fantasy VII Advent Children
01/24/05 - Puyo Puyo Fever
Feb 05 - Metal Gear Acid
Feb 05 - Tales of Eternia

Finally, EA have confirmed that they will have six launch titles for the PSP launch in the US including NBA Street, NFL Street, Tiger Wood's PGA Tour, Need for Speed: Underground and an as yet unannounced title. EA have also announced that they expect that the PSP launch, in the US, will be delayed until April, 2004.

Zelda 2005 not Wind Waker 2?

We've been hearing rumours floating around that the new Zelda is not going to be a direct sequel to the Wind Waker, but in fact an entirely new adventure featuring Link as a teenager. Keeps those trying to keep a Zelda time line on their toes, eh?

Pro Evolution Soccer's Future
Between the first Pro Evolution Soccer and the fourth one, that we are up to now, there hasn't been too many advancements to the series.

One of the biggest advancements is that Pro Evolution Soccer 4 on Xbox will be playable on Xbox Live - every Pro Evo fan's dream come true.

So how about the Playstation 2 version? Konami producer Shingo Takatsuka says he's "pretty sure" that Pro Evolution Soccer 5 will be on PS2 Online. However, at the moment Konami aren't overly happy with the PS2 Online setup. PALGN would suspect that Pro Evolution Soccer 5 will be online.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas UNCUT?

We don't want to give too much away but we have heard from a very reliable source that the Grand Theft Auto we will see on Friday will be completely uncut (Hookers and all? Are Take Two really stupid enough to try it again? - Ed.). Stay tuned to PALGN for more information regarding this extremely good news!

That new Zelda better still be cel-shaded, or my legend stops here.

I think your legend stopped at E3. icon_wink.gif

Cel shading was largely a form of presentation. It wouldn't, nor should it work for a sequel since what we are presenting is a different timeline where link is of a different age, etc.

That said, I wouldn't mind a Zelda game like Oni or the Fear Effect games (lesbians or not), but since OOT, I reckon it should stay within a realistic context.
