PALGN Weekly Releases - 05/07/10

PALGN Feature | Cracking.
This week may not be as super as the last, but one game stands to help ward of the approaching video game drought. Yes, in those few months before Christmas, releases seem very light on the ground. Nonetheless, with the multitude of top-notch titles that have arrived over the last few months, you should have plenty to potter through. Who knows, you may even have time to take a peek at that mysterious tower of games known as the ‘backlog’.

But enough of that – its time to get down and reveal the latest addition to the coveted ‘game of the week’ club.

Crackdown 2

Platform(s): Xbox 360
Release Date: Wednesday 30th June
Genre: Adventure
RRP: $99.95
Demo: Xbox LIVE

Gamers return to restore peace and justice to Pacific City in Crackdown 2, set ten years after the original action-packed title. As another genetically enhanced agent patrolling the metropolis, hordes of infected citizens, known as Freaks, stand in your way. To make matters worse, a terrorist organisation called The Cell is also thrown into the open-world mix. Fans can expect new abilities, weapons and vehicles in addition to four-player co-op and multiplayer for up to 16 players. Crackdown 2 is released on Xbox 360 this Thursday.

This week's checklist:

Thursday 8th July:

Club Penguin: Herbert’s Revenge (Nintendo DS)
Crackdown 2 (Xbox 360)

Release dates are subject to change without notice.

A small week? Oh well, not a big deal as I'm playing SMG 2 atm.

I'll probably get Crackdown 2 down the road.

Is Blur out on PC? According to PC Powerplay which just came out, it is. EB Games doesn't have that or Split Second though.

Played the original and the demo for Crackdown 2 but both were pretty meh, even with four friends to cause chaos with you. I think this will be a bargain bin purchase for me like the original.

There is nothing I want this month apart from Monkey Island 2 icon_smile.gif In fact there are no games I am interested in until the end of August!! I still have Super Mario Galaxy 2 to buy though.

It is quite a good thing because I can use these two months to go through games I haven't played yet and I have a gigantic list of games since I had a shopping spree with the Steam sales icon_lol.gif

^^ Sweet. That's an awesome deal. Better than $74.95 at JB! I wish I could find Blur though.
