PALGN Weekly Releases - 14/06/10

PALGN Feature | Gear up.
This week, you probably aren’t thinking about going out and spending all your hard earned money on games. Rather, you will most likely be looking at all the epic titles on show at E3 that will be part of your collection in the very near future. Nonetheless, while your internet allowance slowly diminishes over the next few days, there is undoubtedly one new game that deserves to be unboxed this week.

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker

Platform(s): PlayStation Portable
Release Date: Friday 18th June
Genre: Action
RRP: $69.95
Demo: N/A
PALGN links: Screenshots

It’s a rare occasion when a PlayStation Portable title features in our game of the week, but Hideo Kojima’s Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker deserves the award. Adopting the robust control scheme of MGS4 and showing off some impressive visuals, the game continues the adventures of Metal Gear Solid 3’s Big Boss with a lengthy story and hours of additional side missions. With ad-hoc co-op for up to four players, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker warrants bringing your PSP out of hiding. PALGN’s review of the game will be available shortly.

This week's checklist:

Thursday 17th June:

Naval Assault: The Killing Tide (Xbox 360)
Toy Story 3 (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable, Wii, Nintendo DS)
World of Outlaws Sprint Cars (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3)

Friday 18th June:

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker (PlayStation Portable)

Coming next week: Naughty Bear (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3), Transformers: War for Cybertron (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, Nintendo DS).

Release dates are subject to change without notice.

No MGSPW for me because my PSP is stuffed.

Two days ago I decided I was going to trade in 4 of my PS3 games I don't want so I will put the money on Toy Story 3.

Why not wait a week and put it on Naughty Bear? That looks like one I might pick up cheap in the future.

Naughty Bear looks interesting though I'm still not sure if I want to spend money on such an odd-ball looking game. Is palGN going to do a review of this before the release next week?

Why not? I decided I will no longer keep games I don't want. Toy Story 2 was awesome and from what I have seen, I'll like TS3 as well.Plus it looks like it will be a game I can play in short bursts.Which is good because I've barely been into video games much lately.

Don't have Big W.BUT I just checked the EB Games site and TS3 is selling for $88.So it looks like I won't be trading in 4 games and putting the money towards TS3 as Target has it for $70

I guess I'll trade the games in when I buy Naughty Bear.
