Scribblenauts 2 is on the way

PALGN News | Reportedly due for release this year.
According to Go Nintendo, the latest issue of US magazine Nintendo Power is reportedly set to unveil the sequel to 5th Cell's Scribblenauts as its April cover story.

The creative Nintendo DS title allowed players to negotiate levels and achieve objectives by utilising almost any object they could think of. According to the above report, the Scribblenauts 2 cover story will reveal that the hybrid puzzle-platformer will feature '10,000 more words' in its dictionary, '120 new and improved levels' and, in what is sure to be a relief for many, 'improved controls' when it releases 'this fall' (most likely for the Northern Hemisphere).

Scribblenauts was an ambitious and innovative title, albeit not without fault. We here at PALGN admired it greatly, but look forward to seeing how its sequel builds upon its solid foundations. PALGN will have more on Scribblenauts 2 as details come to light in the lead up to its release later this year.

'improved controls' isn't really the right choice of words. 'completely changed' would sound better to me.

Feels like a slap in the face after paying $60 to EB for the Rooster Hat edition. If 5th cell were Valve, Scribblenauts 2 would be a free update.

If 5th Cell were Valve they'd release Scribblenauts in Episodic format and make an installment every 5 years.

I liked the concept of Scribblenaughts but the implementation is what turned me off. I know that I am beating a dead gose by complaining about the controls but if they give me a D-pad to move and buttons for actions, I would love to play it. I know that may take the appeal of the game away but I just think that it would make the game vastly superioir.
