PALGN Weekly Releases - 15/02/10

PALGN Feature | Out for blood.
The impressive line-up of releases continues this week, with a number of titles dropping across all platforms. The next Guitar Hero iteration, Guitar Hero: Van Halen, can be found on the usual platforms packed with 25 tracks from Van Halen’s back catalogue. Aspiring advocates can take the stand when Ace Attorney: Miles Edgeworth hits Nintendo DS, and fans of intergalactic strategy can check out Sins of a Solar Empire: Trinity on PC. But undoubtedly, this week’s biggest release brings together two of the silver screen’s most formidable foes for the ultimate showdown.

Aliens vs Predator

Platform(s): Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC
Release Date: Thursday 18th February
Genre: Action
RRP: $99.95 (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3), $89.95 (PC)
Demo: PlayStation Network, Xbox LIVE (multiplayer only)

After a colourful history with the OFLC, Aliens vs Predator finally arrives uncut on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. You can play from one of three very different perspectives in the game – that of a Colonial Marine, a Predator or an Alien. As you would guess, the Colonial Marine campaign plays much like your common sci-fi first-person shooter. Nonetheless, things get really interesting as the Aliens and Predators. As a Predator, you can hide behind a cloak before getting up close and personal with a variety of attacks. Aliens, however, can lie in wait for their enemies, killing them silently with some fairly gory results. We recommend that you not play Aliens vs Predator with the lights turned off.

This week's checklist:

Wednesday 17th February:

Guitar Hero: Van Halen (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, Wii)

Thursday 18th February:

Ace Attorney: Miles Edgeworth (Nintendo DS)
Aliens vs Predator (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC)
Big Catch Bass Fishing 2 (Wii)
Sins of a Solar Empire: Trinity (PC)

Coming next week: Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3), Endless Ocean 2: Adventures of the Deep (Wii), Heavy Rain (PlayStation 3), Napoleon: Total War (PC), White Knight Chronicles (PlayStation 3).
