PALGN Weekly Releases - 18/01/10

PALGN Feature | Darkness looms.
Though it only be week three, the fourth epic release of the year we are about to see. Thank you, unnamed blockbuster first-person shooter of 2009. Because of you, the beginning of 2010 has been damn fine. And a word of advice; be sure to have your affairs in order before next week, as a marathon role-playing event will be taking us to the outer reaches of the galaxy.

Dark Void

Platform(s): Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC.
Release Date: Thursday 21th January
Genre: Action
RRP: $109.95
Demo: PlayStation Network

Mixing aerial combat and third-person action, Capcom's intriguing Dark Void takes you to the centre of the Bermuda triangle to fight an alien invasion high off the ground. With a jetpack strapped to your back and gun in hand, you can shoot UFOs out of the sky, board enemy aircraft mid-flight and engage in vertical cover-based shooting. You heard rights folks – the enemy can flank you from above this time around. With trademark Capcom boss fights and an open sky to navigate, Dark Void may be the dark horse of the year.

This week's checklist:

Thursday 21th January:

Dark Void (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC)
Resident Evil Zero (Wii)

Coming next week: Mass Effect 2 (Xbox 360, PC, SSV Normandy SR2).

Still not sure if I should get this, have seen alot of mixed reviews, but most are based on the demo which was supposedly a very boring tutorialike experience.

Might pick it up if its on the JB 3-4-1 deal.
