PALGN Weekly Releases - 11/01/10

PALGN Feature | Double up.
If you've already finished Bayonetta and Darksiders, then fear not, plenty more gaming goodness is on the way. While it's only week two of 2010, the next epic title is already upon us. On Thursday, our favourite fist-pumping mercenary duo return for their second offering on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Army of Two: The 40th Day

Platform(s): Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable
Release Date: Thursday 14th January
Genre: Action
RRP: $109.95
Demo: Xbox Live, PlayStation Network

Made famous in Army of Two almost two years ago, the buff and gruff pair of Salem and Rios are back in Army of Two: The 40th Day for another round of bromantic chest-thumping and lead-pumping. Unlike the first title, which sent players all over the globe, Electronic Art's new co-op shooter takes place solely in Shanghai. With the city in ruins, Salem and Rios have to battle through insurmountable odds to win the day. Army of Two: The 40th Day promises overhauled gameplay, improved visuals and a slew of multiplayer offerings. The game can be played with an AI buddy, in split-screen or online.

This week's checklist:

Thursday 14th January:

Army of Two: The 40th Day (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable)
Vancouver 2010 (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC)

Coming next week: Dark Void (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC).

I tried the PS3 demo for 40th day last night. I could not get into a public online game with a random person. I or the other person kept dropping and then one time it seemed to revert to split screen mode. Really did not inspire me with confidence =\

No, I have not yet finished Darksiders and Bayonetta. So I think I'm alright. The only thing really left on my radar this month is Mass Effect I think.

Oh but good god, March is going to cost me alooooot of money. I better start saving now.

I'll be getting Army of Two this week, then Mass Effect 2 later this month. I should be sweet until Peace Walker and FFXIII come out then.

Contrary to popular opinion, i will be getting Vancouver 2010 on friday. Was really, really impressed with the demo (Eurocom got rid of practically all the button mashing which made Beijing 2008 terrible) and actually introduced the element of skill (at least from the demo on XBLA which featured the Super G and Ski Jump). Well worth downloading the demo for anyone who likes Alpine Skiing, Bobsleigh and Ski Jumping.
