Australian sales charts, week ending 06/12/2009

PALGN News | Brought to you by the Nintendo Wii.
Christmas is right around the corner, which has only served to increase the amount of Wii software flying off store shelves. New Super Mario Bros. is at the top of the charts for the third week in a row, followed closely by Wii Sports Resort in second place. The ever-dominant Wii Fit Plus is of course present and accounted for in third place, with Cricket for the Wii right behind it in fourth. A brand new Wii game makes its debut at five, in the form of Carnival Games: Mini Golf - it probably won't kick around for as long as the Wii games above it, we imagine.

Sixth position sees the other consoles finally beginning to get a look in, with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on the PlayStation 3 down a place from last week. It's right back to the Wii for number seven though, with chart veteran Mario Kart Wii dropping three slots. Eight sees the return of Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games to the charts - on the Nintendo Wii, of course. The Xbox 360 is represented by Modern Warfare 2 at nine, holding firm from last week's finish. Fittingly, it's a Wii game at ten - Mario and Sonic at the Winter Olympic Games.

Looks like many folks will be unwrapping a lot of white DVD cases in a few weeks time.

The charts are updated weekly and are provided by those wonderful people at GfK.

I beleive it counts on the charts when the games are added to the console when bought Eg Wii Resort & Mario free with console, but not when hard bundled like the PS3 Assasins bundle and 360 Xmas budles with Pure & Lego Batman.
