Title: Alex Kidd in Shinobi World
System: Sega Master System (Virtual Console)
Price: 500 Wii Points
Shinobi World is the final game in the Alex Kidd series, and as its name implies it is a parody of Sega’s Shinobi franchise. In the game Alex Kidd sets out to rescue his girlfriend from an evil ninja named Hanzo, and is infused with a good ninja to obtain special ninja powers. There are four rounds consisting of three levels each, so all up there are twelve levels to play through.
Title: Rubik’s Puzzle Galaxy: RUSH
System: WiiWare
Price: 600 Wii Points
An interesting little puzzler developed from Two Tribes, the same team responsible for the WiiWare launch game Toki Tori. The game is loosely based on actual Rubik’s Cubes, and has players guide cubes to colour-coded exists. As simple as that sounds, you have to strategically use arrows and conveyor belts, among other things, to direct the cubes and avoid collisions. As a little bonus, the game also features a virtual Rubik’s Cube that you can attempt to solve.
Title: Pallurikio
System: WiiWare
Price: 1000 Wii Points
A simple little platformer that features over 50 levels. In the game you control a ball by pointing the Wii remote at your screen, with your ultimate objective being to reach the exit and avoid potential hazards such as chasms.
Title: Tales of Monkey Island: Chapter 4 - The Trial and Execution of Guybrush Threepwood
System: WiiWare
Price: 1000 Wii Points
The Trail and Execution of Guybrush Threepwood is the fourth chapter in the episodic series Tales of Monkey Island. In this episode, Guybrush returns to Flotsam Island and is betrayed by Morgan LeFlay. The pirate now finds himself at the mercy of a prosecutor and is about to be hanged – can he defend himself against the accusations or will this be his final curtain call? For those who are curious, Chapter 4 is considered as one of the better chapters, and apparently the ending is a real shocker and will leave you wanting more. Sounds like a winner to us, then.
Title: Hell’s Kitchen Vs.
System: DSiWare
Price: 800 DSi Points
Yep, another full retail game has been shrunken to be released on DSiWare. This time it’s Hell’s Kitchen Vs., which only features a two-player cook-off mode where you compete in challenges and then get judged (or insulted) by Gordon Ramsay. All we need now is Cooking Mama to make an appearance and all our cooking needs will have been met on the DSi.
Title: PictureBook Games: The Royal Bluff
System: DSiWare
Price: 500 DSi Points
Seemingly a follow up to WiiWare’s poorly received PictureBook Games: Pop-Up Pursuit, The Royal Bluff is thankfully a much more pleasing experience. The title is a virtual card game that is based around adding and subtracting chips from the game board. It’s a tad difficult to describe in such a small paragraph, but it’s certainly one of the more unique card games available on the DSiWare service and is worth a look at.
