Pokémon Rumble is a fighting game staring those cute, cuddly pocket monsters. Yes, we said fighting game, so don’t go expecting any of those fancy turned based battles. You’ll have to battle a variety of different Pokémon, and the some of them you’ll even befriend and be able to unleash in the arena at your leisure. Elemental attributes also play a key role in gameplay, so electrical attacks will be super effective against water type Pokémon but won’t even phase rock types. The game will set you back 1500 Wii points.
Shootanto: Evolutionary Mayhem is a shooting gallery game that sees players assume the role of a monkey that fires coconuts at targets. As you progress your monkey will begin to evolve into a human, and those coconuts will turn into deadly guns. It’s certainly a bizarre and simple game, but at 500 Wii points it might prove to be some cheap fun while you camp out in front of the air conditioner due to the heat.
It’s also noteworthy to mention two new demos have been released on the Wii Shopping Channel. The demos are for the WiiWare games Pokémon Rumble and World of Goo.
Moving on to the DSi Store, Clubhouse Games Express: Strategy Pack is another bite-sized version of the full retail game Clubhouse Games. This time it includes the games Backgammon, Field Tactics, Turncoat, Connect Five and Grid Attack, which are all strategy type games where you have to out-smart your opponent. As usual, you can play the game with up seven other players via DS Download Play. The game will set you back 500 DSi points.
After being available on the Wii Shop Channel for two weeks, Uno finally makes its way to the DSi Store. There’s not much to say really, it’s more or less a electronic and portable version of the classic card game, so it comes down to if you have the need for Uno during your bus trip to work/school each day. The game will set you back 500 DSi points.
Army Defender is the DSi equivalent of Defend Your Castle, only it has a military theme. Your goal is to defend your military base by blowing up enemies using a gun. The gun can be aimed and upgraded with a various power-ups, including a flamethrower and missile launcher. It’s such a simple little game, but if the comparisons to Defend Your Castle are anything to go by, then it will have you playing for hours. The game will set you back 200 DSi points.
myNotebook: Blue is a DSi application that gives you 32 pages to write notes on, though if you’re anything like us you’d use it to doodle drawings during those boring staff meetings. This particular version of the application features a blue colour scheme and will set you back 200 DSi points.
