Australian sales charts, week ending 18/10/09

PALGN News | Lots of new blood.
We have a brand new number one in the charts this week in the form of the PlayStation 3 action blockbuster, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. If you ask us, it's a position that's bloody well deserved, given that it managed to get a 9.5 from us last week. In second place we have the Wii Fit Plus bundle, no doubt well on its way to selling an infinite number of copies before Christmas. It's fair enough though, if Adam's review is anything to go by. Third place is not at all surprising - it's the debut of Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games on Wii. As a result of all the new blood, last week's number one, Halo 3: ODST slipped to fourth place. Wii Sports Resort, on the other hand, managed to jump three places to finish the week at five.

At six is Wii Play - no surprises there. The PS3 edition of FIFA 10 took a massive hit, dropping five places to close the week in seventh place. Ouch. Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games makes its second appearance of the week at eight, this time on the Nintendo DS. The Xbox 360 version of blaster Operation Flashpoint 2 made its debut in ninth place, followed by the highly-anticipated Brutal Legend in tenth place. If you've missed it, you can have a look at Michael K's full review here.

The charts are updated weekly and are provided by those wonderful people at GfK.

I think next week's charts will be interesting with the release of Forza 3 officailly being today. Mind you my local gametraders had a bucketload of pre-orders so if that's any indication...

I'm sure these sales charts also take into account the copies of COD4 that are being given away with console purchases as they go through the checkouts as seperate purchases. Since COD4 is a staple of a number of console bundles these days they reflect in the sales charts.

Yeah great news. I was surprised. Wii Fit and the 'plus' had me guessing infinite $$ for nintendo during it's opening week.

Fallout 3 GOTY didn't chart on the consoles but the PC. Isn't the dlc free on the pc? So it'd be pointless.
