This Week's Releases - 28/09/09

PALGN Feature | Dribbling and scribbling.
First up, and undoubtedly the title on everyone's minds this week is the newest addition to Electronic Arts' soccer franchise, FIFA 10. The latest list of refinements includes a completely overhauled Manager Mode, improvements to the dribbling system, more accurate passing and a new practice arena, to name a few. As usual, FIFA 10 can be found on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, Wii, Nintendo DS and PC when it lands between the goalposts on Thursday.

Next up is Scribblenauts on Nintendo DS. In the game, players must help Maxwell find the Starite in each level by jotting down the word of an object that can be used reach the goal. Objects react as they do in the real world, meaning there are several ways to solve each puzzle. With a total of 220 challenges to decipher, Scribblenauts will keep your brain occupied for some time to come. Our most recent preview of the game can be read by hitting this link. Our bargain-roundup for Scribblenauts also be located here.

The new PlayStation Portable console, known as the PSPgo, is shipping to stores on Thursday. The smaller and lighter device is, as the name suggests, designed for gaming on the road. The PSP's UMD drive has been scrapped in favour of digital downloads in the PSPgo. The long-awaited PSP iteration of Gran Turismo is also scheduled for release this week, either on its own (both digital and UMD versions) or bundled with the current PlayStation Portable 3000.

Rounding out this week, WET combines slow-motion gameplay with third-person shooting and sword fighting on Xbox and PlayStation 3, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles debut in an original game on Wii and PlayStation 2, TMNT: Smash-Up.

Street date was broken today, and EB are now selling (GAME and other retailers may be also). Perhaps Gametraders Northland were responsible?
