Australian sales charts, week ending 13/09/09

PALGN News | Beatlemania hits the charts.
The top half of the charts this week is pretty much exactly the same as it was last week. Wii Sports Resorts is, of course, still king of the charts, retaining its tight grip on the top spot. Unsurprisingly, Wii Fit is right behind it in second place, making it two months in the top two slots for Nintendo's sporty twosome. Things get a bit more interesting after that, with Batman: Arkham Asylum holding firm in the third and fourth spots for the second straight week. Again, the PlayStation 3 version sold more than its Xbox 360 sibling.

Mario Kart Wii was the next game to retain its position, clinging onto fifth place. Right behind it is that other Wii game - you know the one. It's none other than Wii Play, obviously, now owned by every person in the country. Maybe. The Beatles hit surge into the charts with The Beatles: Rock Band, locking up the seventh, eighth and ninth positions. The Xbox 360 incarnation sold the most, the Wii version the least, and the PS3 edition somewhere in between. NRL Rugby League made its debut in tenth place, making it the first PSP game to hit the all format top ten in quite some time.

The charts are updated weekly and are provided by those wonderful people at GfK.

I was going to say I was surprised to see Batman sell more on PS3 than 360, then I remember the Joker code thing Sony was handing out with theirs. Nice work playing a card MS usually does!

Now imagine if EA actually bothered to ship a sufficient amount of copies of The Beatles Rock Band to stores...

Hopefully this will show that Rock Band will sell in Australia if you actually give stores more than 2 copies!

You just blew my mind...

And now we see how long it will be in the top 10... And if this will hint to them to get RB2 here already.

It won't be in the top 10 for very long if there's no copies left to sell...

I just busted around Chatswood in North Sydney hunting down a copy. The last one was in Kmart. Thats after doing all the other usual spots! They also price matched JB even though they had no stock.

It's a rocking Beatles style tonight!

I don't get how... Wii Fit, Jillian Michaels Fitness and EA Sports Active all fall under the 'Family' category. Surely 3 titles out of 10 calls for a Fitness genre?

So i cannot possibly purchase a copy of rockband standalone on the ps3 in australia? does this require a import? either rockband 1 or 2 available as standalones, surely this isn't still happening.

Sure you can. You can't buy RB2 here, but RB1 standalone you can.
