GTA: Chinatown Wars announced for iPhone/iPod Touch

Just when you thought Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars wasn't on enough platforms (PSP and DS so far), Rockstar have just announced that the game will be heading for the iPhone and iPod Touch this autumn in America (spring for us).

Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games, tells us that "Chinatown Wars is a perfect match for the iPhone and iPod touch. We are very excited to bring this incredibly ambitious version of Liberty City, with this level of detail and immersive gameplay on Apple's new gaming platforms."

Also announced for the iPhone and iPod Touch was Beaterator, a game previously announced for PSP that allows you to create your own music, using samples from Timbaland and Rockstar. Right now, it's headed for spring too.

We'll keep you updated if Chinatown Wars gets announced for any of the remaining systems.

Hmm, I wonder which iterition of the game will be available on iPhone: DS or PSP flavour? I dont know how easy it will be to control though. One thing I've not yet gotten used to is the touch analogue sticks / control pads.

If it is not too expensive (which most iphone apps arent) then it is a day one buy!

Great news, but didn't they hear? GTA is already on the iPhone and it's called 'Gangstar'!

A $13 max price means this will be a definite purchase for me. But I wonder if it will be the DS, PSP or a mix between both.
