Australian sales charts, week ending 23/08/09

PALGN News | Wolfenstein hits the charts.
It's five consecutive weeks in the top spot for Wii Sports Resort, continuing to sell like the hottest cakes in town. Meanwhile, Wii Fit held firm in second place. No surprise there, then. Wii Play managed to improve from last week, gaining an extra position to move into third position. People are still needing extra Wii remotes, apparently. Fourth place belongs to Mario Kart Wii, making it four straight for the Wii in a typically dominant fashion.

Locking up both the fifth and sixth positions is the brand new Wolfenstein game, with the Xbox 360 version coming in above the PlayStation 3 incarnation. Ashes Cricket 2009 came crashing down this week, with the PS3 edition dropping four spots to end the week in seventh, and the Xbox 360 version slipping to close in eighth place. Wolfenstein makes another appearance in ninth place, this time on the PC. Closing the charts out for us this week is The Sims 3, back into the charts after a week off.

The charts are updated weekly and are provided by those wonderful people at GfK.

Only surprise for me is that the Ashes game made it in there despite the fact the series is over and we LOST.
