Australian sales charts, week ending 02/08/09

PALGN News | One less Nintendo game this week.
At the top of the charts this week is Nintendo's new waggle-fest, Wii Sports Resort, managing to hold on tightly to the top slot for the second week in a row. It had better watch its back though, because former champion, the unstoppable Wii Fit, moved up into second place, just waiting for yet another run at the top. Wii Play, bundled Wii remote and all, suffered as a result, falling to third. Resident chart hog Mario Kart is still in fourth place. Also staying put is the collectathon that is Pokemon Platinum in fifth place.

At sixth place is another DS entry in the form of Brain Training, taking local sales figures for the game into the billions. Possibly. Wii basher Super Smash Bros. Brawl continued its run of good sales, moving up two places to seventh after only re-entering the charts last week. At eight is - gasp - a game that isn't on a Nintendo console. It's PC blockbuster The Sims 3, back after a brief hiatus from the top ten. It's right back to Nintendo at nine though, with the Wii edition of Harry Potter & The Half Blood Prince falling two slots. At the bottom of the charts is More Brain Training, back for yet another run.

Nintendo dominate yet again.

The charts are updated weekly and are provided by those wonderful people at GfK.

Are you sure that All Format Full Priced Game list isn't owned by Nintendo? All they need to do is release Sims 3 on Wii and the takeover will be complete icon_smile.gif
