Another Square-Enix mystery countdown

PALGN News | Three days until... something.

Square-Enix sure do like their countdowns. It was only weeks ago that their last countdown was thwarted, revealing new Nintendo DS title Four Warriors of Light: Final Fantasy Gaiden.

The mysteries behind this new countdown however are yet to be unveiled. So far, the background image features a vague representation of a dragon/demon type of entity. This would suggest that the countdown could potentially lead to new information on the previously announced Square-Enix DS title Blood of Bahamut. Then again, Square-Enix already have a section on their website devoted to that title, strengthening the possibility of this countdown being for a brand new game (or, dare we suggest, some sort of remake).

The countdown currently reads 'III Days', meaning it won't be too long until we either learn about what Square-Enix has in store, or the countdown leads to a new countdown, Metal Gear Solid: Rising style.

I am so sick of these companies announcing announcements. This just doesn't generate buzz for me.

I won't be excited until SE's countdown timers reveal a release date for FFXIII/Verses.

I don't bite anymore when it comes to these countdowns. They are far too frequent and usually underwhelming, or they have a teaser which triggers another long wait for a proper trailer, which triggers another long wait for gameplay footage, and so on.

I'm all for getting the fans pumped up, but does it have to be done with every release/remake?

It'll probably be an announcement that Final Fantasy XV is in the works... then we'll get it in about 20 years time.

It started with the roman numeral "VII", and while I'm not saying it's "that" remake, they sure do know how to tease their fans. Needless to say, I'm not that impressed and like others have said, the whole countdown thing is just a pile of puke, except they say it a bit more eloquently than that.
