Warcraft movie coming

PALGN News | Sam Raimi to direct. Yes, it's live-action.
Blizzard, along side Legendary Pictures has confirmed Sam Raimi will be directing the upcoming Warcraft movie, bringing the series to life in live-action format.

Coming fresh from working on the Spider-Man film trilogy and the horror film Drag Me to Hell, Raimi said he was excited at the opportunity to translate the popular videogame universe into an epic film.

“At its core, Warcraft is a fantastic, action-packed story,” he said. “I am thrilled to work with such a dynamite production team to bring this project to the big screen.”

Chief operating officer of Blizzard Entertainment, Paul Sams, said Blizzard knew from its first conversation with Raimi that he was the perfect choice.

“Sam knows how to simultaneously satisfy the enthusiasts and the mainstream audience that might be experiencing that content for the first time," said Sams. “We're looking forward to working with him to achieve that here."

No details have been given about the cast and release date at this stage.

Honestly, they could just release all the cutscenes from the games on the big screen and I'd go and see it. So long as it's written by the Warcraft guys I'm going to love it to bits.

Although I will always be bummed that it isn't CG.

Definitely looking forward to this, lets hope it doesn't turn out like most video game to movie adaptions.

Anyone else expecting a scene with near-nude undead or night-elf women dancing provocatively on/near mailboxes for tips? =P

Hey, I made tons of money dancing outside the auction house in Ironforge. I was always stunned by it, but it was an easier way to make 10 gold than running through the scarlet monastery alone.

My Belf rogue's name was Teeteez. This alone had me earning 100+ g by level 20 icon_razz.gif

Good to see the film is moving into full swing. Seriously like a dream come true to see the Blizzard IPs moving onto the silver screen.

Do people honestly make money doing that? Wow, that's sad. I mainly just join everyone, simply because there are so many people there, but people actually give money to the guys with female characters dancing?

^Yes. Some dude once ran me through SM several times because he thought I was a girl.

He literally insta-logged when I told him I wasn't. It was a pretty funny assumption on his part.

I thought it was well understood, there are 11 million people playing WoW, and 9,993,120 of them are men who have never seen a real life naked girl. There is a ton of money there, when all you have to do is hit /dance.
