The PALGN Podcast, Episode 63

PALGN Feature | Portable gaming.
Last time in the PALGN Podcast, we cast a critical eye over PC and console gaming. In this week's podcast, we move away from in-house entertainment and instead go on the road to discuss portable gaming. Anthony, host of Episode 63, asks the PALGN writing team about their first portable gaming devices and the best titles that they've played on them (Pokemon rates a mention more than once). As the voice of reason, PALGN's Executive Editor Jeremy talks about the current generation of portable gaming, particularly the PlayStation Portable and Nintendo DS. Joining in the podcast for the first time, Jahanzeb looks at Metal Gear Solid and The Legend of Zelda on the Game Boy and Michael provides an interesting observation of gaming on public transport. Clocking in at just under 32 minutes, there's just enough time to discuss the past, present and future of portable gaming.

Thanks to forum member integra_viii for suggesting the topic for this week's episode. If there's something you would like us to talk about in the next podcast, post your suggestion in the comments section below.

Auto-pause when the DS lid is closed helps alot with the portability aspect (if you can't save at the time)- with 60+ games in my collection (and a least another dozen I want) it offered plenty of choice. Retro RPGs, puzzle games and genuine innovation in gaming concept sells me, but i am repeating myself - console of this gen for me becasue I can play in the time I have rather then having to dedicate hours in front of the TV. Piracy aside (and I do not condone it) these systems remain one of the exclusive saivours of retro gaming as we wait FOREVER for our favourites to be available without an excessive ebay price (metal gear GBC included)

Remember my Gameboy color my first handheld console (Apart from Digimon). My first game was Pokemon Yellow. I still play Pokemon Pearl on my DS today and love it.
