Update on Square-Enix's 'NEW GAME'

PALGN News | Dragon in the countryside.

Two days ago, we reported that Square-Enix teased us about the existence of a game on a new website. Even though the countdown meter has not hit zero yet, something interesting has happened today.

If you check the site right now, you will find that a large dragon and some brand new music has appeared.

The big unveiling will be in July but in the meantime we will keep you updated on anything that happens on this strange website.

This is stupid, but the music reminds me of Zelda. Probably because it sounds like something that would've been in Link's awakening. It isn't that, obviously, but it reminds me of it.

True but it wouldn’t be the first time we’ve known they’re developing a game in a series only to be blindsided by a new game in the franchise being announced. (I’m looking at you FF14)

To cross over with another PalGN article, SE and Sega are teaming up to make MJ's Moonwalker into a JRPG. That kid is the prince of Crystal land (or whatever) who MJ and his band of friends needs to save from the evil Mr Big with the power of dance.

I'd buy it.

Jokes aside, though, that music definitely sounds familiar but I can't pick it either.

Lets concentrate on getting OUT the games already in development instead of announcing "new" products..

There is a boy on the Dragon now. Honestly, looks like every other JRPG out there.

When there was just the Dragon (minus the boy), all I could think is Drakengard.

Nothing changed when there is a boy on it because from memory, there was a rider on the dragon in Drakengard (got the game, haven't played much of it). I am almost certain I am wrong because where does the 4 fit in?

If it's drakengard they've change the art style significantly. Drakengard had a lot more serious art style.

the 'NEW GAME' from SE is a Final Fantasy Gaiden game for the DS. Basically it's a retelling of the old style FF Four Warriors of Light theme in a chibi-3D cel shaded style
