Australian sales charts, week ending 14/06/09

PALGN News | Can Prototype beat The Sims?
No, as it turns out. After snaring the top slot with its debut last week, chart prodigy The Sims 3 has held onto first place, in what will undoubtedly be a long and tumultuous reign. The previous incumbent, Wii Fit, held firm in second place, just waiting for a chance to jump back to the top. Fresh blood makes an appearance at three, with the Xbox 360 version of Prototype gracing the charts for the first time. As a result, rival superhero game inFamous was pushed down to four. Wii Play also suffered, dropping to fifth place.

Prototype made its second appearance of the week at six, this time on the PS3. Both of which are well deserved, we think. Dropping two slots two seven is the rather impressive EA Sports Active, apparently unable to match the long-term retail appeal of another certain fitness game. Also falling this week was DS animal-catcher, Pokemon Platinum, down two spots to eight. Things are looking up for Mario Kart Wii though, with the game shifting into ninth. Rounding out the charts is the wonderful Rhythm Heaven in tenth place.

The charts are updated weekly and are provided by those wonderful people at GfK.

I noticed the images for the old sales charts have been replaced by the latest ones:

Not sure if it's supposed to be that way, but I was curious to see the sales over the last few months or so and couldn't.

Somebody should also include 2 new charts, one called "Real Games" (Prototype, inFAMOUS, Pokemon etc) and the other called "Casual garbage" (Wii Fit, EA Sports Active, etc) icon_lol.gif

With that being said I've been playing both Prototype and inFAMOUS and they both rock. Prototype I have been hyped about it since I saw a trailer for it early last year. inFAMOUS was surprisingly good (I was expecting another Crackdown)
