E3 2009: Ubisoft bringing Fret Nice to XBLA, PSN

PALGN News | Quirky platformer hits consoles.
The folks over at Tecmo will be bringing PC indie game Fret Nice to the Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network.

Fret Nice is a rather notable platformer. Unlike most other members of the genre, it is controlled with a Guitar Hero controller, which, as you could probably imagine, is a rather unique experience. Apparently, players will have to belt out riff combinations in order to beat some of the tougher enemies in the game, with specific bad-guys having a weakness to certain riffs. Co-operative play is, of course, included in the package, both either online or offline.

It's currently unclear as to whether or not Rock Band instruments will work with the game, but it's probably a safe bet.

Fret Nice is due out at some point in 2010. First screenshots are in the media panel, which you'll find right under this.
