This Week's Releases - 18/5/09

PALGN Feature | Get fit and bionically enhanced.
The first game battling its way onto store shelves this week is Bionic Commando on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. From publisher Capcom and developer GRIN (the studio behind the Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter games for PC), players embody bionically-enhanced Nathan ‘R.A.D.’ Spencer. A weapon is unleashed in Ascension City, turning the metropolis into a pile of rubble. It's then up to Spencer to save the day. With the aid of his bionic arm, Spencer can move vertically and horizontally through the city, swinging between skyscrapers and hooking onto distant objects. His bionic arm is also useful for subduing enemies, along with a few good weapons to boot. Bionic Commando is scheduled to be released on Thursday.

The next game to be released, EA Sports Active for Nintendo Wii, encourages us to get in shape. The latest interactive exercise title includes over 25 workouts and activities, and there are also daily progress reports to let you know how you're going. If a trip to the videogame store sounds more attractive than a hike to the gym, wait until later this week and pick up EA Sports Active.

Other games vying for our attention (and dollars) include fighting title UFC 2009 Undisputed on Xbox 360 and PS3 (our recent preview can be viewed by clicking here), the PlayStation 2 version of Secret Agent Clank, and World War II stealth game Velvet Assassin on Xbox 360 and PC.

"It's then up to Spencer to say the day"

What happens when he says the day?

He sits down to a lovely tea party with his Grandma... what else do burly one-man-armies with grappling-hook enhanced bionic arms do after saving the day?

Oh yeah, he's the World's first straight-edge hero.

Yay! Marbles! Balance Challange is out!

I'm pretty sure it's the sequel to Kororinpa (awesome game!), although I don't know why they changed the name...
