New Hitman, Kane and Lynch game in development

PALGN News | Deus Ex 3 will not be released in 2009.
Life President of Eidos, Ian Livingstone, said in an interview that new Hitman and Kane and Lynch games are currently in development.

When asked about a new Hitman game, Livingstone said, “It’s being worked on, but there’s been no announcement on the release date yet. We haven’t even announced the game yet, so everything you hear about the next Hitman game is purely speculation at this point.”

He also confirmed that the Kane and Lynch sequel is tentatively due for release in September, and that a movie based on the title and expected to star Bruce Willis, is getting close to production.

Livingstone also talked about Eidos’s highly anticipated Batman game, Arkham Asylum, including the reason for the delay in its release. “We’re expecting review scores in the 90s and clearly when you have an amazing game like Arkham Asylum, you want to maximise its potential,” he said. “So we think it’s worthwhile going that slightly extra distance to make it the game it has to be. [...] We haven’t announced a new date. I can tell you it’s this year, but we haven’t given a date."

Livingstone also confirmed that a new Deus Ex game is being worked on by a completely new team, and would not be released this year.

Haha, this is funny because we talked about the potential for the next Hitman while recording the upcoming Podcast last night icon_lol.gif

I think Ubi's policy of rating everything 5 Stars will fit better with the K&L movie release rather than the game.

How about fixing the last kane and lynch game before you make a goddamned new one (infamous usb keyboard turn game into stuttering mess of low fps icon_sad.gif )

New Hitman game! More silent assassin kills!

I hope the team working on Deus Ex 3 isn't "completely new" in all respects. That's a game that deserves a really good effort to pick its reputation up off the floor from Deus Ex 2:Invisible War.

Deus Ex 2 wasn't a bad game. It was just bad compared to the first one > <. Lol. And to be quite honest, I enjoyed the second one.

I love stealth games, and Hitman games are awesome because of all the ways you can approach the missions. I have been waiting for another one since I finished the last one on the 360.

Kane was really woeful wasn't it? Hitman was gold back in its early days on the PS3.

Same, but it really wasn't a patch on the original. I think they over-simplified it, killing half of the enjoyment =\

Which, judging by the impression I got with the developer interview on DE3, is exactly the same thing they're doing to the next instalment.

I rather enjoyed the first Kane & Lynch game, the online was fun too though last time I played Fragile Alliance it was glitching a lot.

You are gonna love Dues Ex 3 icon_razz.gif, it has all sorts of 'complex' features like regenerating health, a cover system (3rd person) and stealth that is completely cover based (no more hiding in the shadows).

**** you Eidos

Did anyone actually play it to find out? When it was released, the only thing you could hear was the whole gamespot scandal...

I played it and actually liked it. I mainly played it in co-op and it was a solid co-op shooter. But that's just my opinion.

Yeah, I really enjoyed how there is a benefit to turning against your friends to make more $$$ but also big risks in doing so as there's a bounty placed on your head for anyone that kills the traitor. The surprise element of handling it was really neat.

Then there's also the guys who just turn traitor straight away. Funny story actually, there was this one guy who pwned everybody in the previous game, so when we started the new game (the one where you rob the bank), I threw a grenade right away and killed 3 of the 5 guys, I quickly killed the other 2 so I was the only guy left, then they respawned as cops to come and kill me, just before they got outside the bank to all shoot the crap out of me, I quit the game.

Basically what happens there is that my guy just disappears off the screen. So no one got a reward for killing me, haha. One guy sent the message afterwards saying "nice disappearing act".
