Australian sales charts, week ending 26/04/09

PALGN News | Yawn.
Absolutely zero points for guessing the top two games in Australia this week. Things get slightly more interesting at three, with last week's surprise new DS entry, Club Penguin: Elite Penguin Force, holding firm. The good old PS2 is represented in fourth place, with Singstar: Queen crashing back into the charts after a rather brief hiatus. This pushed the other Wii chart staple, Mario Kart Wii, down to five. Wow, that's such a shame.

The seemingly decades old Brain Training made yet another re-entry into the charts, stepping into sixth place. Somewhat poetically, More Brain Training is right behind it at seven, providing Nintendo bigwigs with some more money to throw onto the giant pile. The PlayStation 3 gets a look in at eight in the form of Killzone 2, still continuing to sell despite being bullied by all the Nintendo games above it. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare's crazy comeback severely stalled this week, with the game dropped four slots to finish in ninth place. Ouch. Just in case you didn't feel the charts had enough old Nintendo games in them, the Wii version of Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games is back in tenth place.

The charts are updated weekly and are provided by those wonderful people at GfK.

No brainer for Brain Training success considering all the ads they are pumping out now.

MS must be annoyed at Lips current ad campaign failure...can't even make it into 360 top 10.

Killzone...keep on rocking

Well when their competition is currently Singstar Queen there is no chance they'll win. As much as I'd like Lips I will be getting Singstar Queen instead due to it being chock full of bloody awesome Queen songs.

Overkill has some really solid legs here and in the UK, more so than MadWorld.

No Little King's Story though icon_sad.gif.

it was a very slow week all up for games, which is why there are some strange re-entries.
for example #10 on the all games chart got there with less than 1000 units sold.

BTW Brendan unless my cache is being screwy, you posted a 2008 PSP Chart icon_smile.gif

I'd say the problem is on GFK's end, since the image is at http://www.gfk.com.au/Charts/Entertainment/Top%2010%20PSP%20Games.gif

It's cause PALGN has always been using the same link and on GFK's website they changed it to http://www.gfk.com.au/Charts/Entertainment/Top-10-PSP-Games.gif

I'm pretty sure the Bang Bang Boxes were just restocked, weren't they? I picked one up last week, having missed out at launch and not wanting to buy it on its own. Could others be doing the same?
