This Week's Releases - 6/4/09

PALGN Feature | More Godfather, Company of Heroes and Valkyrie Profile.

First up this week, Relic and THQ return with the second stand-alone expansion in the Company of Heroes series, Tales of Valor. The latest title in the strategy franchise offers new units, maps and multiplayer modes. New units include the Schwimmwagen, an amphibious all-wheel off-road vehicle, and the Staghound, a highly manoeuvrable armoured car. The game also includes three new campaigns, from both the Allied and Axis perspectives. Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor on PC invades store shelves this Thursday.

Electronic Arts' sequel to the The Godfather is also scheduled for release on Thursday. The Godfather 2 expands on its predecessor, with players taking to the streets of new cities in order to build their criminal empire. As Don of the family business, you must keep an eye on rival organisations, hire and promote suitable underlings, and send family members out on missions according to their specialisation. The Godfather 2 can be found on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.

The last game to be released this week is Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume on Nintendo DS.

Finally, Wanted: Weapons of Fate sneaked out ahead of the pack and arrived late last week. The Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 game, based on the action movie Wanted, takes place from the third-person perspective and – exactly like the film – allows players to ‘curve’ bullets around obstacles. I probably would buy company of heroes but I still haven't got round to finishing the original or OF.

I wonder if godfather will be any good. The first was alright.

Oh and btw, Wow, next week looks exciting. One psp game!
