Australian sales charts, week ending 29/03/09

PALGN News | Attack of Singstar.
The top of the charts looks awfully familiar this week, with the top two games - Nintendo's ever-popular Wii Play and Wii Fit - holding firm at the peak of the charts. How unexpected. Making a return to the top ten in third place after some time away is PS2 karaoke game Singstar Queen, followed closely by the Xbox 360 RTS blockbuster, Halo Wars, which managed to hold onto its fourth place. It's another Singstar game returning to the charts at five, in the form of Abba. Feels like it's the days of PS2 dominance all over again.

That other Wii game, Mario Kart Wii is of course still in the charts, even managing to move up one spot to finish in sixth place. The PS3 version of Resident Evil 5 plummeted this week, dropping a whopping four spots to close in seventh. At eight we have stylish Wii game MadWorld making its debut. Well deserved, we think. Dropping four spots is Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, in ninth spot in only its second week of release. At ten lies the Xbox 360 incarnation of survival horror/action game, Resident Evil 5.

The charts are updated weekly and are provided by those wonderful people at GfK.

Well done goes to Mad World for breaking into the top 10 even with the crap pal version.

I think mature titles do pretty well here on Wii, much better than the rest of PAL region.

HOTD is still in the top 10 and MW has started very high.

most of the punters buying singstars and wii-plays won't know about the "crap" pal version difference - at least the blood isn't edited like it was in NMH....

Madworld is awesome, buy it! How many other games are there in which you can imbed 4 signposts into an enemy's head dump a bin on him and them bash him repeatedly into a wall of spikes? Or bury firecrackers into someone's neck and watch them stumble around till they explode, awesome fun icon_smile.gif
