PALGN's Periodical Rumour Harvest #3

PALGN News | EA Offline for PAL Regions? New F-Zero in development?
After a quiet month for rumours PALGN catches up with three of the biggest rumours to hit PAL regions in the last week. If even one of these turns out to be true it's big news, so, without delay....

EA No longer online for PAL regions?

In the last few days EA have removed the Xbox Live logo from their official webpage at www.easports.com.au, In addition to this the boxart for Madden 2005 has been modified to have no Xbox Live image, as can be seen below:

We have tried contacting EA for a comment but haven't received a response. This news is hardly surprising though as some PS2 titles were offline last year. However, in the general comment on the Madden 2005 homepage for Xbox here there is still the comment of:

New EA SPORTS™ Online - Take on the best Madden players in quick tournaments, or compete in a mini-game of Rushing Attack. Improved EA SPORTS Fair Play keeps the playing field level.

Burnout 3: Takedown seems relatively safe with both a synopsis stating the game will be online for the Xbox and the coverart (pictured below) indicating the title will be online.

So will EA Xbox Games be online? We seriously don't know.

New F-Zero to be announced for the GBA?

F-Zero has appeared on every one of Nintendo's platforms since the Super NES. After the rave reviews of F-Zero GX it is no surprise that PALGN learns that Japanese retailers expect Nintendo to announce another F-Zero title for the Gameboy Advance called F-Zero: Climax.

The game is listed as one of the four titles which will be on display at Nintendo's next monthly product exhibit for distributors and retailers. Could this be true? We will have to wait and see.

Halo 2 Surprise?

Last week the first of many Halo 2 movie trailers was released by Microsoft. We admit the theatrical trailer is brilliant but were shocked by one small easter egg in the trailer.

45 seconds into the trailer the link changes from www.xbox.com to www.ilovebees.com (a very peculiar url) We went to investigate the site and it is extremely messed up. The only recognisable aspect of the website is the countdown which appears to be counting down to something presumably to do with Halo 2.

The full text on the homepage is:
HALT - MODULE CORE HEMORRHAGE

Control has been yielded to the
SYSTEM PERIL DISTRIBUTED REFLEX.

This medium is classified, and has a
STRONG INTRUSIVE INCLINATION.

In 1 days, network throttling will erode.

In 15 days this medium will metastasize.

COUNTDOWN TO WIDE AWAKE AND PHYSICAL:
28:14:08:23:072

Make your decisions accordingly.

It is an extremely messed up site, could this be Microsoft PR at its best? It certainly has a lot of people interested. Could it just be an easter egg? What is happening in 28 days and counting? We will all have to wait and see....

PALGN will have more information on all of these rumours as soon as it becomes available. Stay tuned for our next periodical rumour feature soon.
