This Week's Releases - 01/12/08

PALGN Feature | Lara and the Prince return.

The deluge of video games finally begins to wind up this week. Competing for the spotlight are two favourites – in the left corner we have Lara Croft, and in the right, the rejuvenated Prince of Persia. As ladies should go first, we begin with Tomb Raider: Underworld on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, Wii and Nintendo DS, which is released on Thursday. After a two-year break, Lara Croft returns to battle mercenaries, sharks, and anyone else in her way. To discover more info, you can check out our recent hands-on preview from eGames. In addition to the standard retail game, the Limited Edition of Tomb Raider: Underworld is also available on Xbox, PS3 and PC.

The next hero to enter the arena is the re-imagined Prince of Persia. Available on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 (PC owners will have to wait until next week), Prince of Persia opens a fresh chapter in the franchise, with new characters, allies, non-linear gameplay and a distinct visual style. Animal Crossing: Let's Go to the City on Wii hits shelves on Thursday (our eGames preview can be read here), Shaun White Snowboarding makes its way to PS2 and PC, and Buzz! Brain Bender is released on PlayStation Portable. To wrap up the week, first-person shooter Legendary heads for Xbox 360 and PS3, and after a wait of more than seven months, Grand Theft Auto IV can finally be found on PC.

saw Legendary on the shelf yesterday and went hmm that looks interesting, lucky i didnt get it, although IGN gave Kengo 3.0 and i'm loving that game.

i saw Legendary on the shelves last week, and like fetid thought it looked interesting.
had never heard of it before then though - didn't realise it was supposed to be new (wasn't in new releases, just on the shelf.)

Yeah. Legendary has been out for at least a week. Same with Ben 10 Alien Force for the DS.

HSM 3 is out also, at least the SA PS2 version is.

GTA4 PC was out today.

Also, Wii Speak is street dated until Thursday the 4th.
