For a start, there's much more space for the show. If we were to guess, we would say that the organisers have booked nearly double the area of last year's event. Again, Sony have pulled out all the stops with a massive display, with games such as LittleBigPlanet and Resistance 2 (you can expect our preview for the latter on Saturday). Nintendo also has quite a presence, and we're definitely looking forward to putting some of their unreleased games like Animal Crossing: Let's go to the City and Kirby Super Star Ultra to the test.
Aside from the big-name game publishers, there are two stages set up at either end of show to keep visitors entertained. One is for the Digital Lifestyle Show, and the other is the Intel eGames Stage. Tomorrow afternoon, the eGames stage will be hosting a Dissecta industry panel talking about all the important topics in gaming, such as the classification debate. Jason Hill from The Age's Screenplay will be at the helm, so we're sure to be for an interesting discussion.
If you're venturing to the Exhibition Centre any time over the next few days, don't forget to visit the PALGN booth. Aside from putting faces to the names you've become accustomed to, we'll be designing our very own game with the help of anyone who drops past on Saturday. We will also be collecting signatures in support of an R18+ rating, conducting our podcast and catching a breather from all the action, by playing video games!
The Digital Lifestyle Show and eGames Expo is running at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre from the 14th to the 16th of November. For further information, head over to the official site. We look forward to seeing you all there!
