Halo 2 Deluxe Limited Edition: contents revealed

PALGN News | Probably not very limited, but certainly deluxe...
Microsoft have released details about the extras we can expect to be enjoying after we've finally waded through the Deluxe Limited Edition of Bungie's forthcoming sci-fi shooter Halo 2, and there's some impressive material in there, especially considering this 'special' edition is set to retail for exactly the same price as the standard package. Admittedly, if this 'Deluxe Limited Edition' is anything like the 'Special Edition' Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, you'll still be able to pick one up about eighteen months after the game's release. But we're rambling. So without further ado, the features are as follows:

  • Special Content DVD Disc + Game (2 Discs)
  • Behind the Scenes: The Making of Halo 2
  • Making the Game: Six Video Featurettes
  • Visualizing the Story (Concept Art, Early Level
Design, From Script to Game, Narrated Storyboards and Character Tests.)
  • Bonus Material (Trailers from Halo 1&2, Cut scenes, Commentaries, Inside Bungie, A Bungie history, Before Halo, The Making of Halo 1, Gameographies)
  • Comes in special collectable 'Tin' box

Time for that pre-order folks...

Crud, there doesn't seem to be a drool emoticon, so this will have to suffice.

just thought i'd add the image of the collectors tin to this thread as well in case someone hasn't seen it on the other Halo 2 thread...

as for not being limited, the dude at EB told me they are only getting however many people pre-order them... i don't know if this was the idea for the Zelda game as well, but if not then it would seem a pre-order is a must if you want it...

Do any UK people know what shops are available to pre-order this in?

theres a number of online stores that are taking pre-orders, so my advice would be to phone the store you usually go to and ask if they are getting it, and if you can pre-order from that store...

Damn, that's pretty good. I'm not sure if the game will be as widely available as Zelda was though.

£35.99 at simplygames.co.uk. I've dealt with them before, they're good people.

Yea, it's game store bluster - don't fear, Microsoft will make enough of these babies. People love 'limited' editions as they feel they're getting something unique. MS will make millions of these things. It's the limited editions of poorer selling games (Ico for example) that are harder to find now.

yeah i was looking at the bungie site and they said that basically there are 2 versions, but limited numbers (whatever that means) of the SE version so pre-order to avoid disappointment...

Well, we already have an idea of what the front of the limited edition tin box looks like, but today we received shots of the back, and all I can say is: LIEK, OMGG, TOTAL COOLNESS!1!11!
