Interestingly, rather than just licensing the rights to Army of Two to Universal, EA has actually signed on as a producer, potentially giving them much more control over the final product. Scott Stuber, who was previously attached to the failed Halo movie project, is also in line to produce. Burns was also interviewed about the movie, saying that, "I told EA right off the bat I wasn't a gamer, and that appealed to them because they didn't want to simply replicate the game."
Army of Two joins a long line of videogame adaptations in the works, with Bioshock, Gears of War and even Duke Nukem all reportedly being groomed for the big-screen treatment. With Max Payne, the latest videogame adaptation, recently topping the American box office, the long list of these adaptations will most likely continue to grow.
