Australian sales charts, week ending 19/10/08

PALGN News | Can the new kids topple Wii Fit?
Wii Fit. It's sitting at the top of the charts. Still. Again. It's becoming somewhat of a dictatorship. Tagging along with it as always is Wii Play, though it managed to move up a place from its usual number three slot. Making its chart debut at three is the violent fun of the sandbox adventure Saints Row 2 on the Xbox 360 - and we think it's pretty darn good. Holding on to fourth place is the crazy racing fun of Mario Kart Wii, while the PS3 version of Saints Row 2 is right in behind it at five.

It's another chart debut at six, with the blocky cape adventures of LEGO Batman, on the PlayStation 2 of all platforms. Drawn to Life: Spongebob Squarepants Edition took a massive hit this week, falling five places to finish at seven - not the best result after debuting at two last week. Super Smash Bros. Brawl made a rather surprising re-entry at eight, while the PS3 edition of FIFA 2009 is the only one left in the charts at nine, only two weeks after release. Rounding off the charts at ten is a not so surprising re-entry - Brain Training for the DS.

The charts are updated weekly and are provided by those wonderful people at GfK.

It still amazes me that Halo 3 is still in the top 5. Does anyone know how much they've made from it?

Saints Row 2 was number 3 and 5 for the 360 and PS3 respectively on the combined top sellers list.
Fifa 09 was in position 2 for both 360 and PS3.
Fifa 09 on PS3 made it to number 9 on the top sellers list Whereas 360 didn't make it at all.
Seems the 360 2nd place is a worse performer than PS3 for this week at least.

WiiFit must have an incredible attach rate. If you consider Wii+WiiFit costs almost the same as a 360Pro you see just how wrong Microsoft and Sony were to tout HD as the revolution in gaming this generation. Don't even get me started on third party software developers...
