No Trophies for Mega Man 9

PALGN News | PSN version to deny boasting rights.

Capcom's Jon Diamonon has confirmed with CVG that the upcoming Mega Man 9 will not feature trophy support when it releases on the PSN later this month.

When queried, Diamonon simply replied 'Sorry, no trophies.' This is especially disappointing considering the rather formidable set of achievements revealed for the Live Arcade version.

The game, a sequel to the original Mega Man series and designed to evoke the experience of playing on 8-bit hardware, is scheduled for release in North America on WiiWare on September 22, PSN on September 25, and Xbox Live Arcade on October 1, with local releases presumably to follow shortly after.

That's kinda lame, you think it would be pretty simple to just make the acheivments into trophies on the Sony.

Apparently you have to plan for Trophies very early in development in order to implement, which is kind of strange seeing as BioShock/Mirror's Edge/Rock Band etc will have them, but whatever, I think it is mandatory from 2009 for all PS3 games to have Trophies, so the confusion should end soon.

are sony ever going to have a policy that all games will have to support trophies? its a pretty big deal for some people and it doesnt seem to make sense that so many games dont use this feature.

like mipac said its to be mandatory from next year. while it was a rumour its probably right.
