POTW Results: Battle of the Bands

PALGN News | Battle? More like massacre.
You PALGN pollsters really know how to hand out a shellacking. Last week, we asked you to tell us which band-sim reigned supreme: Guitar Hero: World Tour or Rock Band. And a shellacking it was, as over 80 per cent of the votes went to Guitar Hero: World Tour, leaving Rock Band quietly sobbing into its plastic drum kit.

After the way that EA have treated us, is this a surprise?

Hell no.. i'd vote Guitar Hero over Rock Band any day. If they're gonna screw us then screw them.

I'm with you guys on the whole 'PAL region getting screwed over' thing, but as it stands, Guitar Hero has a cheaper rrp, more quality instruments and a better tracklist (imho, but it's pretty subjective and the RB tracklist is damn good). Even if Rock Band was released the same day as Guitar Hero and there was never a delay, I'd still get GH:WT.

After playing the RB2 set and the GH:WT set, I'm more for RB2. RB just seems like a higher quality product while RB:WT looks dated and tired.

Funny that anyone would vote for a game that we have to pay double what the US did, and pretty much a year later.

Pretty sure the poll was RB (not RB2) against GHWT. Even so, if RB was anything to go by, we won't be seeing RB2 for another year, and that's if the series comes here at all.

As much as I love all these music games, Harmonix and EA really need to pull their heads out. Honestly.

My bad. I just assume that it was 'series vs series' sort of thing. And still, people can order RB2 direct off the RB website for about $230 US incl shipping to Aust which if I recall correctly, is still cheaper than buying GHWT. Still even after seeing and playing RB and RB2, and after seeing and playing GHWT, I'd still lean towards RB.

I don't really think its a fair poll. Rock Band was never even released in Australia, so what we know of the game is limited to the few people who imported. Obviously anyone who hasn't even seen Rockband and is just angry at EA (as they have every right to be) for being jerks and they are going to vote for Guitar Hero.

I can't really judge between the two games, because I've never played GHWT. Rockband however, is awesome fun, while GH3, ( I have no idea about the differences between GH3 and GHWT) I didn't enjoy as much.

Anyway, as I said, I think the poll's not particularly relevant, as it is really going to be answered on people's bias against EA's treatment of the PAL region concerning Rock Band, and not the respective qualities of both games.
