Ratchet and Clank Future: Quest for Booty not headed to retail?

PALGN News | PSN Store may be the only option.
According to a report from Britishgaming.co.uk, the rather good Ratchet and Clank Future: Quest for Booty will not be available on Blu-ray.

The downloadable title released last month on the PSN store was slated to appear at retail outlets, but a Sony of Europe representative has apparently responded to an email query by stating that 'R&C: QFB won’t be released in the UK on Blu-Ray I’m afraid.'

If the European Sony representative is correct, the game will likely not appear in Australian brick and mortar stores either, which means those gamers without credit cards are out of luck if they develop a hankering for some Lombax-action.

This is a shame.. I was holding out for a Blu Ray release to see a price difference before parting with my money..

At the end of the day, I prefer owning a physical copy of games than a digital download..

OH well, once this is confirmed, I'll be buying it either way..

Dude you read my mind. This is certainly disappointing if its true.

To be honest I don't own a PS3, but I am curious; What size is the download for it?? Is it justifiably small enough to not worry about a disk to store it on?
(mind you the main reason I am asking is more so as a R&C fan)

I think it is like 3 gigs.

3gig?? Passable IMO but barely; doesn't help if one doesn't have broadband; let alone a large enough cap.
Though that would really be my only concern. Would hate to have to re-download it also.

Its 2.3gb - at least the US version was.

I'm fairly sure they would've jacked up the price of the retail version over the PSN one so unless you waited for some eventual sales I doubt retail was going to be the cheaper option anyway.

Sure it's a bit annoying for people with low download limits/speeds but it's not a very long game and does really feel more like a downloadable title when compared to Tools of Destruction.

It's only the UK that's been announced as not getting it: http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=234548

The rest of Europe is still supposedly getting it. So unless we hear that Australia isn't specifically, we still might be.

3.2GB download for EU/AU instead of 2.3GB for the US. So 0.9GB of languages we don't care about or want.

That really is ridiculous. .9 gigs bigger for languages most people won't use? That sucks. It's too big for me to download, considering I am only meant to use about 666 mb a day and I won't go over.

Import US release. It'll be cheaper anyway. Problem solved.

US aint getting the blu-ray, it was always only going to be for EU/AU, and if you meant download the US one not everyone can because of credit cards and all that junk
